Make a donation to support the Little Rock Inclusive ECD Centre in Nairobi, Kenya
I found myself weeping as I left the Little Rock Inclusive ECD Centre in Kibera, the largest slum in Nairobi, Kenya. The work that is being done in this ECD Centre is incredible. Lilly Oyale had a vision and a dream and she put legs on that dream and ran with it full throttle. Her story inspires and encourages me and proves that there are great champions for children in Nairobi.
Lilly Oyale, the Founder and Director of Little Rock ECD Centre believes that every child deserves a high-quality education regardless of where they live or are born. The children that are served at Little Rock ECD Centre come from the slum that the school was built to support. It is a true lighthouse for the children. Lilly has given her life to supporting and growing the school in Kibera. She started with 12 children (0-5) and now has over 700 children enrolled every day in a Birth-4th Grade school. Not only does she provide the children of Kibera with an education, she also has a home where 30 children live that were orphaned or abandoned due to their disabilities. Ms. Lilly reminds me of Mother Theresa in many ways.
“To continue to run our programs and provide education to the vulnerable children of Kibera, we rely on donor funding and income generated from our various projects.” ~Mrs. Lilly
